What You Actually Pay: Service Fee vs Network Fee
Every payment includes two separate fees: PayKilla’s service fee, starting at 0.5% and set individually for each merchant, and the blockchain network fee, passed through at cost. The API returns the exact fee breakdown for each payment amount, as network fees vary by blockchain and current network conditions.

Bitcoin and Crypto Network Fees Explained
Network fees go to the blockchain network that processes the transaction, not to PayKilla, and we do not mark them up. The exact network fee for each payment is returned in the invoice response rather than taken from a fixed rate card.

Who Pays the Processing Fee — You or Your Customer?
You decide who pays the service fee for each invoice. By default, PayKilla deducts it from the amount you receive, or you can pass it on to the customer at checkout.

No Chargebacks, No Chargeback Fees
Crypto payments settle on-chain and are not subject to card chargebacks. With PayKilla, you avoid chargeback fees — typically $15-$100 per dispute — as well as arbitration costs for escalated cases.

Build Your Own Infrastructure vs. Use a Gateway: Cost Comparison
Running your own crypto payment infrastructure means node hosting, AML screening tools, and ongoing engineering work — continuous costs that begin before you process a single transaction. Developing a crypto payment gateway in-house can be a multi-month project. The PayKilla API replaces that infrastructure overhead with a service fee starting at 0.5% per transaction, plus applicable network fees. There are no setup or withdrawal fees and no minimum processing volume. See the FAQ for a full cost breakdown.
